Steampunk Ottoman

My Steampunk Ottoman costume was completed in 2011 and is one of my oldest costumes still in regular rotation. It was designed as a hall costume and has never been in competition but is still a favorite. It’s extremely comfortable and was the first costume that I wore my gold striped corset with- the first corset that I ever made.  Inspired by paintings of the Ottoman Imperial harem, the costume consists of pink colorblocked poofy pants, a long sheer chemise, Victorian corset, sash, striped coat, and hat. I’ve used various wigs or hair extensions with this costume at times but comfort generally wins out when throwing it on.
